WELCOME TO THE ICSP WEBSITE

This website is designed to further the aims of the ICSP and will in time include information about forthcoming ICSP events. The site is in its early stages of development and over time we intend it to become an important research and teaching resource for those interested in issues of international and comparative social policy.

ABOUT THE ICSP

The ICSP was set up in Spring 2003 as a Special Interest Grouping of the UK Social Policy Association and is co-convened by Zoë Irving (University of Sheffield) and Nicola Yeates (The Open University). The activities of the group reflect both intersecting and divergent interests of international and comparative social policy.

The ICSP aims to:

  • promote a network of individuals already researching and teaching in the fields of international and comparative social policy
  • encourage new entrants into these fields
  • promote international and comparative social policy as fields of study within social policy generally
  • develop teaching and learning resources for international and comparative social policy
  • facilitate the institutional development of these fields especially in UK university teaching and in learned societies
  • facilitate links between the group and international social policy agencies for the purpose of research and advisory work
