Natural water sources, such as ponds, have a vital role in the every day life of people in rural areas. They use them to fish, to wash their clothes and other household items and also to bathe.

Although accessing a natural, open water resource, like a pond, in urban areas is not always common, when people do access one, then will often use it for many different purposes, as noted above.
